A Link Between Sleep & Hearing Loss?

Although studies have linked obstructive sleep apnea to hearing loss, the link is not entirely known between lack of sleep and hearing loss. People with tinnitus (ringing in the ears) have been known to have sleep disturbances. Lack of sleep can increase tinnitus as well as decreased tolerance to it. In other words, stress is a known stressor (no pun intended) of tinnitus.
